To find the person who created the group board, look in the upper left corner. The first person listed there is the person who created and owns the group board. If you click that link, you'll be taken to their main Pinterest page which should have some type of contact info such as where they blog or a Facebook link.
If you follow the link to their blog, you will probably be able to find an email address to contact them. If all else fails, you can always try leaving a request to join their boards by leaving a comment on one of their pins. Hello and thank you for this page. I was invited via email to pin on a particular board, but I never received an invitation from Pinterest. The only invitation was through my email.
I've asked them to resend, but I think they are sick of me. I did ask them twice. Any ideas? Try clicking on the little icon next to your name in the upper right corner of your Pinterest account. You'll get a drop down menu. Click the "you" button which will show you all the invites you've received to pin on group boards. Thank you! This was so helpful. I recently emailed asking to join a group board. They emailed back the invite, but it did not work. I used a different email account.
I will give it another go Thanks for the detailed tips! How do you find previous invites that are not showing on the info tab? Hi there - this is a great post. I thought it was just me being stupid but I'm finding it really hard to join group boards.
I agree with you - board administrators do not make it easy to request an invitation. Also, one person said I should leave a comment on a pin - does this mean leaving a comment "Hi I want to join your board please? Feeling very frustrated and grumpy now I was figuring out how to get invitation from popular boards. I was invited to pin in few boards without sending them any requests. This post was informative and let me try with these tips.
Thank You! I think I'm missing something None of the boards I'm interested in have any emails or anything to contact. It should be in the board description. If it's not, comment on any pin and they will see it.
Thank you so much for explaining this in such great detail! And please - anyone reading this that has a group board -- please add your contact info to the description of your board like Bonnie said.
Too often it feels like a dead end when I find a group board that I would like to participate in. Thanks again for this post! Great info for someone who is a noobie with Pinterest. Question for you though, what do I do if I can't find the contact info to message the group admin to be added to the board? They don't have an email listed or anything really and I can't access them to message them in my messages folder.
Any help would be appreciated! How do we do this?? I am new to Pinterest, I have commented on pins in group boards and tried to contact board administrators, but have not received any replies or invites, am I missing something? I got an invite to pin on a group board, how do I pin on that board from my web site?
Thank you for explaining this! It might sound silly, but I was clueless when it came to group boards. Every post about building traffic through Pinterest credits joining great group boards, but there are far less posts on how to actually do it.
However, the problem is that sometimes board owners either don't respond to request for board invites either because they don't keep up with their notification or they've gone MIA all together. So it can be frustrating at times trying to get invited to some boards. You're absolutely right about paying for some invites too. It's totally worth it in the long run. This is incredibly helpful! As a new blogger, I didn't understand how people were getting traffic to their site from pinterest. Now it makes a whole lot more sense!
I will see which ones I can join now : Thanks! Great article. I've found quite a few group boards I'd like to join and some of them have hundreds of contributors I'd love to know how they got to be contributors! Only one has had clear information on how to contact and that person has never responded to my request.
Are there any updates on how to do this? Great article, thanks so much! I am not sure how to find the e-mail of the group board owner? Thanks for your help Post a Comment. February 19, This weekend I finally set up my Pinterest group boards. I know, I know! I should have done it a long time ago, but it's kind of a lot of work!
Although I truly love Pinterest, I really wish there was an easier way to invite people to group boards! Each person who wants to join has to contact you through email that's a lot of email to deal with and each person has to be added individually to each board. Pinterest are you listening? There has got to be a better way to do this! Since this is the system we're working with, here's everything you need to know about using Pinterest group boards.
For this tutorial, I'll refer to the person who starts a group board as the board administrator. This is the person who is responsible for creating and maintaining the group board as well as inviting others to pin on the board.
The board administrator can also decide to remove members who don't pin appropriately see below and they can delete the entire group board if they choose to. Contributors are the people who are invited to pin on a group board.
Tips for board administrators: Make it easy for contributors to join your board by posting clear instructions. This is such an important thing to do! The easier it is for pinners to contact you and join your board, the more people will be part of the board and the more exposure everyone gets for their pins.
Often when I visit a group board, there's no information about who created the board or how to join it. Many times I'll see "email me for a board invite" in the board description, but pinners can't tell who started the board and don't know who you are or how to contact you. You can use up to characters in the board description to let people know exactly how to contact you and how to join the board. If you already have a group board, it's easy to click "edit" to change or update the contact information on your group board.
Use a separate email address for group board invites. As a board administrator, you may want to create a separate email address for your group boards. This keeps your main email inbox from filling up with group board requests. It also prevents your main email address from receiving potential spam.
If you do start getting spam, you can easily change your email address without it affecting your main email account. This is Pinterest's rule and you simply can't be added to a group board unless you are following the person who created it.
You must follow the person, not just the board you want to pin to. If the person pins a lot or has a lot of boards that don't interest you, don't worry. You can always unfollow some not all of their boards after you follow them and are invited to their group boards.
Contact the board administrator and ask for an invite. This is sometimes difficult to do if the board administrator hasn't left clear instructions. The first person listed as an editor is the person who started the board and that's the person you should contact.
Know the difference between your Pinterest email, url, and user name. Your Pinterest email is the email account that you used to open your Pinterest account. This is where all of your Pinterest updates and notifications are sent to. If you don't remember what email account is connected to Pinterest, click on your name on the upper right corner.
Click settings on the drop down menu. Your Pinterest user name is how you are known on Pinterest and how people can search for you on Pinterest. Use the correct email address your Pinterest email to contact the board administrator. Most of us have more than one email account. When you request an invite to a group board, send the request from your Pinterest email - the email account that you used to sign up for your Pinterest account. The board administrator will use your email address to send you an invitation through Pinterest.
If you contact a board administrator from an email that's not connected or associated with your Pinterest account, your invitation will show up in your inbox, but it won't work because it's not connected to your Pinterest account.
Once the board administrator has added you to the group board, you will receive a notice from Pinterest in your email. If you have your email settings turned off in Pinterest, you may not get the invitation. Another place to look is in the upper right corner of your Pinterest page. Next to your name is a red box with a number.
This gives you updates on who has pinned from you and who started following you. It also gives you updates about who has invited you to group boards. Look here for your invitation. After accepting an invitation to pin on a group board, you must pin responsibly or the board administrator will delete you from the board. Visit the Pinterest Group Board Directory. Tags: Pinterest. A screen will pop up asking you to select the image you want to pin if there's more than one photo on the page , after selecting the image you'll get another window to create the pin.
You'll do two things in this window—choose which board to add the pin to and write a description of the image you're pinning. Select the board using the drop down menu in the window. If you want to add your pin to a new board, you can create one directly from the drop down menu as well.
Once you've selected the board, write a description of your pin—something to help you remember why you added it to your boards. Select the option to Create a Board more on the other two options on the next page. Give your board a descriptive name so your followers know what types of pins they'll find on it.
